Why this wine matters
The wine comes from several vineyards around Montelupo Albese at roughly 450 metres. It keeps Nebbiolo’s perfume, tannin and savoury character while being designed for earlier drinking.
How it is made
Fermentation lasts around 15 days with a small proportion of whole grapes, followed by 10–15 days of maceration and roughly 8–10 months in large barrels. The wine is not filtered.
What does it taste like?
Red fruit is joined by underbrush and wet-earth notes, with an elegant rather than powerful palate, snappy freshness and well-developed silky tannins.
Serve it well
Serve around 14–15°C. A little air helps its perfume emerge.
If this wine were human…
If Rangone Langhe Nebbiolo were human, it would be patient, layered and suspicious of anything described as “instant”.
Does any of this sound suspiciously familiar?
Patient, layered and suspicious of anything described as “instant”. You notice small details and then pretend you did not, mostly to see whether anyone else does.
At dinner, you are happy to share the bottle, but you definitely noticed who poured themselves the heroic measure. Secretly, you are slightly competitive about having found the good place before everyone else.
In short: patient, layered and suspicious of anything described as “instant”. nebbiolo energy, translated into a person.
Purely for fun — this is the wine’s fictional personality, not a psychological reading of yours.
